Who Would Benefit?


Art therapy is not dependent on the spoken word therefore it can be helpful for anyone who finds it difficult to express their thoughts and feelings verbally. It can benefit those who have;

  • Emotional difficulties
  • Behavioural difficulties
  • Communication difficulties
  • Social and peer difficulties
  • Mental health issues
  • Anxiety or depression
  • Mood issues
  • Learning difficulties
  • ASD, ADHD, impulse control
  • A physical disability or illness

Or perhaps are suffering from trauma due to:

  • Changes in the family structure
  • Transitioning
  • Bereavement
  • Illness
  • Abuse
  • Child protection concerns
  • Domestic violence

This is not an exhaustive list, clients who can use art therapy may have a wide range of difficulties disabilities or diagnoses. These include for example emotional, behavioural or mental health problems, learning or physical disabilities, life limiting conditions, brain injury or neurological conditions and physical illness. Art therapy can be beneficial to children or adults or all ages.
